This guide is the product of multi-year study of engineering student transfer of writing skills from preparatory college writing courses to early engineering laboratory writing. It is informed by multiple measures of student writing performance in laboratories taught with and without attention to writing instruction.
The Instructor's Guide to Engineering Lab Writing has been created to support instructors who wish to integrate writing in their engineering laboratory courses more intentionally and use a Student's Guide to Engineering Lab Writing.
